How We Manage to Have No Dues

We have no dues because we have no expenses.

In most clubs, the biggest single expense is printing and mailing the newsletter. We do everything on the Internet. Our website provides access to the latest version of the events calendar, and an e-mail list available only to members provides an easy way for any member to communicate with the membership.
We have no expenses for a meeting room or refreshments by holding our meetings at a local pub. They let us use their back room, and most members have dinner. It's a win-win situation.
When we do hold an event that requires money, such as a dive off one of the local dive boats, rather than chartering the boat, we simply pick a date when there's an open boat, say "Let's go diving!", and let the individual members make their reservations with the boat themselves.
